A man who ran a gang of menacing car clampers in Chichester has been found guilty of killing schoolgirl Milly Dowler.

Levi Bellfield was convicted by jury at the Old Bailey today (June 23) of killing the 13-year-old who vanished in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey, as she walked home from school on 21 March 2002.

Her remains were found in Hampshire six months later.

The 43-year-old was a notorious and uncompromising clamper at Chichester Gate car park, working for Borough Enforcement Parking for just over a month from the end of January 2004.

He was pictured smiling in the Observer in February 2004 after being caught on camera patrolling the car park with a fellow clamper.

In 2008 he was convicted of murdering two young women in west London and attempting to murder a third.
