A man appeared in court today after allegedly pulling a gun on post office staff in Hunston demanding money.

Lee Hunt is accused of going into the Hunston Post Office yesterday (Thursday, June 30), at 2pm with a stocking over his head and brandishing a handgun at the postal worker.

He was arrested later in the day after handing himself into police, having fled the scene without any money.

The 31, year-old of no fixed abode in Bognor Regis, appeared in Chichester Magistrates Court this morning charged with attempted robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to commit a crime, and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded in custody, and will appear at Chichester Crown Court on September 15.
