Police are appealing for information following three burglaries in the Itchenor area near Chichester.

The burglaries all took place in Itchenor Road overnight between Sunday, August 28, and Monday, August 29.

In the first burglary two handbags were stolen from the hallway of a house, but these were later recovered by police with a small amount of cash missing.

In the second incident the offender was disturbed at around 3.30am as they tried to gain access and in the third a silver Ridgeback Avenda 7 bicycle was stolen from a garage.

Sergeant Rachel Glenton of Manhood Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “I ask that people look at their own security and ensure that doors and windows are locked.

“We rely on people to call us immediately if they see anything suspicious as this gives us the best chance of catching those responsible. In response to these two burglaries we have increased both the uniformed and unmarked police presence.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 365 of 29/8 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
