Son pleads not guilty to Goodwood murder

A Chichester man who is accused of murdering his mother and burying her body on the Goodwood estate has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

Neale James, pleaded not guilty at Lewes Crown Court today (Friday, June 3) to murdering his mother, Brenda James, who he lived with at the Lakeside Holiday Park, in Vinnetrow Road.

The 50-year-old will go to trial at Lewes Crown Court on October 31 this year.

Mrs James, 78, was reported missing by friends and was found on March 24 in woodland near Pilleygreen Hill within the Goodwood estate.

A post mortem revealed she had died from a head injury.
