Detectives in Chichester are appealing for witnesses and information following a spate of break-ins at houses in the Midhurst, Fernhurst and Haslemere areas.
The most recent offence took place on March 15 at Midhurst Road, Fernhurst, when cash and computer equipment were stolen.
Between March 11 and 20 a house in Northchapel, Petworth, was broken into, although it is unknown what, if anything, was stolen. On March 9 thieves broke into a house in Liss and took a television.
During the afternoon of March 7 offender(s) broke into a home in Marley Combe Road, Haslemere, and took jewellery.
A house was targeted in Petworth Road, Chiddingfold, between February 25 and 28 and copper piping was stolen.
On February 14 a laptop was stolen from a house in Loxwood, and some time between February 2 and 15 a property in Fernhurst was broken into and cash was stolen from the kitchen.
The first in this spate of burglaries happened between February 1 and 4 when thieves broke into a property at School Road, Haslemere, while the homeowners were away. They made a tidy search of the house and stole jewellery.
DC Mark Burgess, from Chichester CID, said: “The method of entry for the majority of these burglaries was the same, whereby the offenders broken in through the back of the property and made a tidy search, before making off with jewellery and laptops. For this reason, we are linking all these incidents and investigating them as a series of offences.
“We would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of these offences, or who witnessed anything suspicious in the areas where they happened. Anyone who can help is asked to contact me on 0845 60 70 999, quoting crime number WC3/023496/11.”
