Two men rushed to hospital after New Year’s Day attack in Selsey

Two men were taken to hospital after being attacked in Selsey just minutes into the new year.

The men, aged 21 and 19, both from Crawley, had been drinking with a friend in the Crown Inn on Friday evening (December 31) where they had become involved in a minor argument.

As they left the rear of the pub a few minutes after midnight, they were attacked by a group of people.

An ambulance was called to the High Street and both victims were taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with head and facial injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault or any incident leading up to it to.
