Witnesses sought after Chichester burglary

POLICE are appealing for drivers who may have witnessed a burglary at a house on a busy Chichester road to come forward.

The home in Old Broyle Road was targeted between 9am and 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 4.

Police described a distinctive Seven Oaks antique clock, dated around 1770, which was taken in the burglary.

It was in a black, wooden case with glass panels and a handle at the top.

The clock itself was gold coloured with the face of the clock being silver with Roman numerals in black.

Detective Constable Della Squires said: “Old Broyle Road is an extremely busy road. If you drive that route regularly, have you seen anything unusual or have seen anything suspicious?

“Alternatively the item taken is very distinctive piece. Have you have been offered such an item or seen one for sale?
