Woman ‘bottled’ at Selsey Christmas lights event

POLICE and paramedics were called out after a 55-year-old woman was hit by a bottle during the Selsey Christmas lights switch-on.

The incident happened on the High Street shortly before the main event, which saw hundreds of people in attendance.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “At 5.50pm on Saturday (November 29) a 55-year-old woman attending the Christmas lights switch-on in High Street, Selsey, was hit on the head by a bottle thrown by a teenage girl.

“She suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

“Police located the bottle thrower and the incident was dealt with by way of community resolution.”
