Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog bit a man in Selsey.

A 68-year-old man was bitten by a Jack Russell in the High Street at around midday on Tuesday, December 30.

The victim was walking near the junction with School Lane when he was approached from the other direction by a couple walking two dogs.

As the couple passed him, the Jack Russell bit him on the thigh.

The victim spoke briefly to the woman who was holding the Jack Russell’s lead but they walked off without leaving any details.

PC Andy Rawlinson said: “I would appeal to any witnesses who may have seen the incident or those involved. I would also appeal to the woman involved to come forward and give her account of what happened.”
