A PUB has reopened after six months renovation under new owners.
Mariella and William Fleming, who also own the country wedding venue Southend Barns, said they were ‘thrilled’ about their new venture, The Blacksmiths, in Donnington.
“This has been a fantastic project for us,” said Mrs Fleming.
“We’ve renovated the pub into a space we’re incredibly proud of and we hope customers will share our enthusiasm for The Blacksmiths, its delightful menu and wonderful country atmosphere.
“The pub was unused for over a year and we hope to make it an enjoyable hub for the community and visitors.”
Restored in a relaxed and comfortable style with a few quirky twists, guests can enjoy the blazing fire and homely charm of the anvil bar or the snug elegance of the dining room. There are also three uniquely furnished double bedrooms and a large garden area with outdoor seating, fire pits and a herb and salad garden.
The Blacksmiths is eager to support other local businesses and suppliers, providing local ales and beers such as Sussex Gold and the award winning classic blonde beer Hip Hop and Halfway to Heaven from Langham Brewery.
The lunch and dinner menus boast a wide range of innovative dishes that emphasise the very best seasonal produce that is sourced locally or grown onsite.
There is a children’s menu and garden area to suit families too.
A new public footpath has also been created just for The Blacksmiths, so you can access the pub by foot or bicycle from the Chichester Canal.
