Double fatal accident on A285 north of Chichester

TWO people died after a crash on the A285 at Upwaltham last night.

Around 10.50pm yesterday (September 28), two vehicles collided several miles north of Chichester at the junction of Selhurstpark Road and the A285.

Two occupants of one of the vehicles escaped with minor injuries, but two elderly women in the second vehicle died at the scene.

The first vehicle, from which two men escaped with minor injuries, burst into flames and is the one shown here.

The second vehicle, in which the two women were travelling, is not pictured.

The two men were taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call Sussex Police on 101 and quote operation Ardington.
