CANNABIS plants have been seized in Tangmere and at least one person has been arrested.
Police launched a night of action in Tangmere, following several reports from residents of the drug being used in the village.
Chichester Neighbourhood Policing Team were out in force on Friday night after two plants were found earlier in the week.
PCSO Richard Moorey seized the plants from a resident earlier in the week, following a tip off.
“In response to this we have arranged an evening of action to tackle this where we will aim to robustly deal with any persons found in possession of cannabis,” said PCSO Moorey.
While out and about officers successfully stop checked a total of six persons and made one arrest for possession of cannabis.
A property was also searched as a strong smell of cannabis was emanating from the building. An established cannabis plant was discovered and seized. Chichester Police said cannabis in communities such as Tangmere would ‘not be tolerated’.
