‘Drunk’ man lays in the road causing traffic delays

POLICE and ambulance services were called after a man ‘under the influence of alcohol’ lay in a road causing congestion in Chichester today, police said.

The man, in his 50s, was blocking two lanes of the A268 ring road outside Chichester Magistrates’ Court and became aggressive and refused to move when police attended at around 4pm on Thursday.

The man was eventually moved and taken to St Richard’s Hospital, a police spokesperson confirmed.
