SCHOOLCHILDREN at East Wittering Primary School took part in a poster competition – and two students won special prizes.
The developers of a 50-home site in Bracklesham, Miller Homes, visited the school and tasked the students with designing posters to raise awareness of staying safe on building sites.
The winner was 11-year-old Rosanna Wright, who won £50 worth of WH Smith vouchers, with eight-year-old James Neal coming second and winning vouchers worth £20. The school also received £100 worth of vouchers as a thank you for taking part, which will be spent on literacy items.
Tracey Lee from Miller Homes said: “With so many imaginative and stand-out entries, it made picking a winner very difficult. The entries were of a really high standard and everyone who got involved should be really proud of their efforts. After much deliberation we are delighted to announce the winner is Rosanna Wright with James Neal as the runner-up.
“All the children had clearly spent a lot of time working on their designs and it’s extremely important to raise awareness surrounding the dangers of building sites. We say a big well done to everyone who entered.”
