FAMILY fun combines with eco initiatives at a free Transition Chichester event on Sunday.

Green ideas will be showcased at the Time Machine museum, on the B2146 in Funtington, from 10am to 4pm.

On offer will be solar-powered train rides, the chance to create art from recycled materials and demonstrations on repairing clothes and household items.

An inspiring film will explain more about the materials economy, waste and pollution, as well as ways to reduce them.

Mark Beardmore, from Transition Chichester, said: “As well as a café serving refreshments in an historic setting with lovely gardens and within reach of country walks such as Kingley Vale, there will be workshops and activities available throughout the day.

“The idea is to give people an insight into not just the real problems and issues we face but also the solutions, along with a path to a better life.”
