Students at Midhurst Rother College are celebrating after achieving the college’s best ever A-level results. 22 per cent of entries resulted in A* and A grades (14 per cent in 2011), which is significantly higher than the number achieved last year and against the national trend this year.
53 per cent of entries resulted in A* to B grades (compared to 33 per cent last year) and 70 per cent achieved A*-C grades – up from 65 per cent in 2011.
Dr Joe Vitagliano, principal of Midhurst Rother College, said: “These are excellent results which far surpass those achieved in previous years. They set a new standard that our younger students will aspire to equal if not exceed.
“While these results represent a leap forward in achievement, they are additionally pleasing as they were obtained without the benefit of our wonderful new building. This incredible facility will further help Midhurst Rother College become the sixth form of choice in this area and beyond.
“I am proud of how students have worked incredibly hard over the past two years; these results are a fitting reward for their efforts and dedication.
“I am particularly delighted that so many have achieved the grades they needed to secure places at their university of choice and I wish them well for the future.”
