STUDENTS at The Academy, Selsey, received some great results, with many going to college to study A-Levels.
In total 42 per cent received A* to C grades, including English and maths.
There were some great individual results with the following students achieving five or more A* and A grades: Jenny Ainsworth, Morgan Craig, Anna Langmuir, Elie Wattam and Briony Laker, who achieved 296 out of a possible 300 in her English language exam.
Jenny Ainsworth, 16, from Selsey, said: “I have done quite well. I got A* in English literature and English language.”
She will be going to college to study English literature, geography and psychology, and either philosophy or maths.
“I’m quite relieved I was so nervous,” she said.
Andrew Hamblem achieved 16 A* and A grades.
He will be going to Chichester College to study A-Levels and said he hopes to go to university after that.
Other students were praised by the school for making exceptional progress across a range of subjects based on their key stage two results. These were Jessica Head, Jessie Bastable, Robbie Courtman and Roksana Rudzenia.
Headteacher Ann-Marie Latham said: “In my ten months as headteacher at The Academy, we have seen significant progress made.
“My congratulations got to the students who gained successful results.
“The Academy was inspected in the summer term and it has been removed from a category to achieve this in such a short period of time is incredibly pleasing. This reflects the commitment and determination displayed by staff and governors to provide the best possible education for our students.
“It is to their credit this remarkable achievement has been made.
“My thanks got to all staff, student, parents and governors in supporting The Academy as it continues on its improvement journey,. “We are well on our way to becoming the high performing academy our community rightly deserves.”
