PUPILS, parents and teachers at Lavant CoE Primary School put their best foot forward to raise money for a charity which provides meals to children in Africa.

The children took part in a sponsored walk around their playing fields for the fund-raising day in aid of Feeding Futures, set up by Bosham resident Vanessa Bennett last year.

Before they started their challenge, pupils listened to an inspiring presentation about the charity given by Mrs Bennett.

They learned the charity provides nutritious meals for the 700 children at St Brendan’s Primary School in the village of Ngwataniro, situated in the Molo region of the Rift Valley, Kenya.

The charity has just built and equipped a kitchen and a food store and is now seeking funds to help provide one meal per child per day.

Before this charity was set up it was not unusual for children to collapse during the middle of the school day because of poor nutrition.
