WINTER may be on the way but children were looking forward to spring when they planted bulbs with town crier Richard Plowman.

Youngsters at Chichester Nursery School and Children’s Centre are now looking forward to a sea of colour under the site’s horse chestnut tree.

The planting was led by staff and young people with learning disabilities from the Aldingbourne trust, helped by nursery children and pupils from other schools.

Bulbs were provided by a parent.

Parents, centre users and local companies were invited to sponsor a bulb or plant and £300 has already been raised for Chichester Food Bank.
