PUPILS from West Wittering Parochial Primary School were among a group of young environment champions who were lucky enough to meet The Prince of Wales during a WWF summit.
His Royal Highness attended the first ever WWF Green Ambassador Summit at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire on July 5. More than 60 young ambassadors from nine different schools, including West Wittering, attended the two-day event along with teachers, WWF representatives and special guests including Tim and Thom from Channel 4’s television series Three Hungry Boys.
A West Wittering school spokesman said: “We are delighted our school has been named as a WWF Green Ambassadors Champion School. This recognises the hard work our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils have put into their recent Keen to be Green work.
“They have researched and presented to all the staff and children in a bid to help us all become more aware of how to look after our environment, and to encourage us to improve some of our eco-practice.
“The pupils who attended the Green Ambassadors Summit, representing the south, enjoyed sharing ideas and experiences with others, so they can learn how to help our school.”
