YOUNG newshounds at a Chichester school are hitting the headlines, after they were challenged to write a piece for the district council’s Initiatives magazine.

Year 11 media students at the High School for Boys had to write and design an article which focused on helping to keep people fit and healthy – with the best one featuring in the magazine.

The project was part of their GCSE coursework, which included researching and presenting their ideas to a panel of three and then writing and designing their article.

Elliot Jackson’s article was chosen because of its high standard and creativity.

“The pupils came up with some really creative ideas and articles, but Elliot’s was the one that stood out,” said Jo Losack, the council’s youth engagement officer.

“We hope our readers find his article as interesting as we did.

“Hopefully, we’ll see Elliot’s name in print again soon.”

The piece appears in the summer issue of Initiatives, out now.
