Emsworth is hosting a special celebration today for St George’s Day.

The day will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of the second world war, as well as the re-formation of 170

Thorney Island.

Veterans from various conflicts, going back more than 60 years, will march with 12 Regiment Royal Artillery and the military band of the Royal Artillery through Emsworth.

Children will also accompany the parade from Thorney Island Primary School and Emsworth Primary.

It will culminate in St Peters’ Square. Entertainment will come from the George Regis
Jazz Band.
