LIFELONG Emsworth resident and artist Angela Loader is making a highly anticipated return to watercolour painting after 19 years.
In July, Angela, from Highland Road, will host her first exhibition since the birth of her son Peter.
The exhibition, to be held in Emsworth Museum July 7-29, will include 20 watercolours illustrating Emsworth throughout the past century.
She said: “I was born in Emsworth and came from a fishing background. The history of where I grew up ignited my love of painting.”
The works were sparked by the release of a book in which she painted watercolour images to help represent the history of Emsworth.
The watercolour artist used rare postcards she found to capture the seaside village as far back as 1907. She then returned to the same spot 100 years later to paint and compare the scenery.
Since turning professional in 1979, Angela has won awards in both national and international watercolour competitions, alongside honours such as exhibiting in the prestigious Mall Galleries. She held successful solo exhibitions before her break from painting.
