FIREFIGHTERS were in Selsey for four hours last night (April 28), after a fire broke out in the roof of a building.

The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 6.17pm, to a home in East Street.

Fire crews used two hose reels, two main jets, thermal imaging cameras and a platform to fight the fire from above.

The second floor was 75 per cent damaged by fire and the ground floor was 15 per cent damaged by smoke and fire.

It wasn’t until 10.17pm when the firefighters finally left the scene.
