FIRE crews were called to tackle a fire at a thatched property in Bosham this morning (October 8).
Crews were called at around 4.43am to the fire in Smugglers Lane, which has left around 90 per cent of the thatched roof destroyed.
A total of six fire engines from Chichester, Bognor, Emsworth, Worthing and Arundel were called to tackle the fire.
It has been confirmed that the fire was started accidentally.
One elderly woman has been taken to hospital suffering with minor smoke inhalation.
The fire has been put out and crews are still on the scene carrying out thatch removal.
An advisor said crews were still on the scene damping down following the fire.
Smugglers Lane currently remains closed due to access.
