The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has announced further strike action this weekend.
FBU members will hold four continuous days of strike action from 6pm on Friday October 31 to 6pm on Tuesday November 4 in its on-going dispute with central Government over planned changes to firefighter pensions.
During the strike West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service will still be responding to 999 calls, but will have fewer resources available.
With the action taking place when many people may be attending or holding firework or bonfire celebrations the service is urging people to help prevent emergencies by attending a properly organised community bonfire and firework event.
Simple steps to staying safer:
Test smoke alarms
Dispose of cigarettes carefully
Check for escape areas
Take extra care on the road
