A Chichester fundraiser has presented a large sum of money to Macmillan cancer support after a hugely successful coffee morning.

Ian Jackson, who is living with cancer, organised his first coffee morning and raffle to ‘give something back’ after receiving so much support from the charity.

The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which raised an amazing £816.16 was held at Tangmere village centre in September.

“It went very well, I was really pleased with everyone’s contribution and I would like to thank everyone who donated money and supported the event,” said Mr Jackson.

“It was three months of hard work, and the first time I have done anything like this, and we had a really good response from all who attended the morning.

“Thank you to all the amazing companies and people who donated cakes, and to all those who gave raffle prizes so generously.

“I think the raffle alone took about £400, so these businesses really helped to raise the money.”

Mr Jackson presented the cheque to the charity, at the Macmillan information centre, in the Fernhurst Unit, at St Richard’s Hospital.
