Flood funding for Chidham and Hambrook

ANOTHER community has been given a grant to improve its resistance against heavy rainfall and flooding.

Chidham and Hambrook Parish Council is set to receive £3,454 for ditch improvements from West Sussex County Council’s Operation Watershed Active Communities Fund.

It was one of seven communities to be named in the latest round of funding announcements.

County member for residents’ Services, Lionel Barnard, said: “Helping communities to clear or repair ditches and culverts, or to identify and fix drainage issues affecting them, are precisely the local projects we want to support.”

Anyone who would like to bid for the fund can discuss it with their local county council community and economic development officer.
