A STATUE will help raise funds for charity – thanks to a family butcher.

Victor May, who owns May’s of Stockbridge Family Butcher, has a new, brightly-coloured addition to his shop, called Bernie Two.

“If everyone donates one pound every time they take a picture with Bernie Two, I will enter them into a draw to win a hamper,” said Vic.

“The money will go to St Wilfrid’s Hospice and the winner of the draw will receive a Christmas hamper.”

Vic said some people did not know there was a butcher’s shop on Stockbridge Road and thought this would help the hospice and shop.

“We have already had one lady take a picture with her grandchildren looking through the butcher’s legs and under his arm.”

The statue came all the way from Texas and was made in Asia.
