FUNTINGTON Primary School opened a new outdoor learning area on Tuesday.

Jack Bunker, Rob Bridle, Bryony White and Steve Chong, trainee teachers carrying out the BA Primary Teaching course at the University
of Chichester, created a series of fun outdoor learning areas aimed
at developing the Year 1 and 2 children’s key skills through exploration and play.

The area has maths, English and science learning opportunities from the mud kitchen, writing wall, writing floor, mini-beast hotel, and reading lounge, with a sun canopy and beanbags.

Teachers, local business and residents helped with the build.

Companies such as G.S.L Forestry, Firewood, Fencing & Tree Care, Covers and East Ashling Nurseries donated their time and resources to the project to help it become a success.
