The sun shone as the competitors arrived early in the morning to get their exhibits ready.

Secretary Rozie Bradley said: “The number of entries this year was a fraction down on last year, particularly in the vegetable competitions, but surprisingly the number of people putting in exhibits was almost the same. They maybe did not have as many vegetables to show.

“We are always amazed and delighted by the number of visitors we have to the show from all around the local area. Many congratulations to all those who won the beautiful cups.

“I must mention in particular the delightful entries from the children and grandchildren of Bosham.

“There was a lovely community spirit as visitors stayed and had a cup of tea and cake before the raffle was called. The committee would like to thank all those members who helped on the day too numerous to mention by name. We could not do it without them. Special thanks has to go to Kay and Stephanie who work throughout the year to prepare for this day and to make it the success it is.”

The society’s next monthly meeting is in the Village Hall on Thursday, September 8, at 7.30pm, when Jenny Lacey will give a talk with slides, entitled Designing a Small Back Garden.
