From the moment the doors opened at 9.30am on Friday, the Assembly Rooms, in North Street, Chichester were packed, with more than 700 people attending.

The event raised more than £11,000, which is well up on last year.

Manager of the hospice’s South Street shop Leon Stanton said: “The event was a great success and I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations which made the event possible and to all the customers who supported us on the day.”

With the Goodwood Revival only weeks away, it was a great opportunity for people to buy their outfits at bargain prices.

As well as the clothes themselves, shoppers could get accessories to finish off their outfits, with everything from gloves and jewellery for ladies to braces and binoculars for men.

Toys, bric-a-brac and kitchenalia were also on offer.
