GREEN-fingered fans of Gardeners’ Question Time have flocked to West Dean Gardens to take part in a recording of the popular BBC Radio 4 panel show.

The studio audience were invited to submit questions for the panel on arrival and ten people were selected to ask their questions on a range of gardening topics.

“Demand for tickets was high - the 150 tickets sold out within an hour and a half of going on sale,” said a spokesperson for West Dean.

“This is the first time the show has been broadcast from West Dean Gardens. The panellists took time out before the recording to see around the spectacular walled gardens accompanied by gardens supervisor Sarah Wain.”

The programme will be broadcast at 3pm on Friday, October 4 and repeated again at 2pm on Sunday 6 October.

The Friday broadcast will kick off an weekend of gardening activity at West Dean as thousands of visitors descend on the gardens for its new harvest themed event, Grow! Cook! Eat! being held on Saturday 5 and Sunday, October 6.
