A one-of-a-kind gold, silver, diamond and opal Goodwood inspired bangle will soon be put up for auction to raise money for charity.

The piece of jewellery, which was previously bought for £16,000, will be put up for sale to raise money for Kidney Research UK, in Stride & Son’s upcoming auction of silver and jewellery on February 26.

Each of the five hinged panels depicts a different scene of the race course at Goodwood including the trundle and the grandstand.

It was donated to the St Wilfrid’s Hospice 25th anniversary ball charity auction at Goodwood House in November 2012 by Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery, who designed it specifically for the occasion.

It was bought for £16,000 at the St Wilfrid’s Hospice Silver Ball.

However, the successful purchaser, who wishes to remain anonymous, has now decided that the item should once again be offered for sale at auction.

This mysterious benefactor has very generously decided that all of the proceeds will be donated to Kidney Research UK and as usual Stride & Son will also donate their vendor’s commission to the charity.

Titled ‘A Day at the Races’, the bangle will undoubtedly prove to be one of the highlights of Stride & Son’s auction.

It is complete with a custom made fitted box and carries a pre-sale estimate of £4,000-5,000.
