THE Rotary Club of Chichester will host a free blood pressure testing day at Boots, in North Street, Chichester, on national ‘Know Your Blood Pressure’ day.
Rotarians and health professionals will be on hand from 11am to 3pm on April 18 to take BP readings and to give advice.
Rotarian Richard Hancock said: “The club has supported the Know Your Blood Pressure campaign for the past two years. The ideal blood pressure is 120/80 but we know from past experience that in Chichester a significant number of people have readings above that and a quarter have dangerously high blood pressure with readings over 140/90.
“Last year we took 140 BP readings and 56 people we saw were advised to take action. Our event can play a big part in reducing stokes in our area. It’s clear from our work that high blood pressure is far more common than you would think.”
