CYCLISTS are gearing up to raise funds for a great cause at the third MS Circuit Challenge, being held at Goodwood on Sunday, May 27.
In the morning, a challenging cycle race takes over the motor circuit before a family fun event in the afternoon. Those taking part can use their imaginations to decide how to get around the 2.38-mile circuit – the afternoon session is suitable for all ages and abilities, and is easily accessible for users of wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
The 2012 event, which is sponsored by Geared Bikes Ltd, Gibson Whitter, Independent Financial Solutions and George Ide solicitors, has been organised by Goodwood employee Kenny Smith, who is also trekking in Sahara and cycling from London to Paris in 2012 in support of the MS Trust.
From 9.30am-1pm serious cyclists will race 21 laps around the circuit, covering 50 miles. Prizes are on offer to the winners of various categories, and each rider will receive a medal. Advance registrations cost £17.50, £20 on the day.
Then 1.30pm-3.30pm the family fun event allows participants to complete the circuit by any means: walking, cycling, on roller skates, in fancy dress – it’s up to you. Entry £5 per person, £10 per family.
