PUPILS from Great Ballard School have taken part in a series of festive events.

As well as singing for shoppers at the Chichester Cross, the children enjoyed a ‘Reindeer Run’ in the school grounds.

All the children aged from two to 13 took part in cross country runs wearing their antlers in aid of St Wilfred’s Hospice.

Children from Form 2 were treated to a visit from John Lewis staff.

The pupils had been studying penguins and their own penguin ‘Twiddle’ went on an adventure with John Lewis’ famous penguin ‘Monty’.

The ladies from the store came and heard the children’s stories about Twiddle’s adventures before telling the pupils a story about Monty.

The festivities ended when the pupils treated their families to a concert at Boxgrove Priory Church on Friday December 12.

Singers put a jazzy twist on the performance by introducing a finger clicking ‘Swinging Shepherd Blues’.

The school will host an open day on January 24 from 10.30am to 1pm.
