Natasha runs Slimming World groups at Parkside Evangelical Church, St Flora’s Road, Littlehampton, on Mondays at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

She said:”My mobility is severely effected by the disease. My mum and my son Deon, who is 15, come along every single week and help me to set up and pack away because I can’t do this. I am so grateful for their love and support.

“Learning how to slim for life is so important for my health and it’s essential that I teach my children good eating habits as there is a huge obesity crisis in our country and it’s so important that we teach the younger generation about the importance of living a healthy, balanced lifestyle.”

Natasha explained: “They will be cycling their bikes, which is great exercise for their health, and they will be doing as many laps as they can around the famous Goodwood race track.

“This event is brilliant for disabled people as, often in life, we have to watch and wave and not participate but in this case, it is ‘by any means possible, so I am able to participle with my family and friends in my wheelchair and be proud of who I am.

“I will proudly be going round the track with my family. They are all coming along to support this event as it’s my birthday and I’ve asked for no presents this year, just donations, so I can add it to my children’s sponsor fund for this event.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday, raising money for a charity that is very close to my heart. I never feel sorry for myself, I try to show my children that when life gets in the way it’s really important to learn to adapt to overcome things.

“I’ve no idea what my future has in store for me with regards to my disease but I do know that I don’t ever want to look back and my life and say I wish I’d done things. I want to be able to look back and be proud of things I’ve achieved.”

The charity has asked people taking part to dress up or decorate their bikes and mobility aids, so to get in the fun spirit, the family will help Natasha to decorate her wheelchair as a birthday present and they will all be wearing birthday cake hats.
