The Friends of Bognor Hospital raised an incredible £60,000 to buy the new ultra sound machine through a range of activities, including its annual fair, which takes place this Saturday.

MP Nick Gibb was there to see it unveiled on Friday, July 22, and said: “It is quite admirable how a determined and hard-working group of volunteers can raise significant sums of money to provide our community with this valuable piece of equipment.

“Ultra sound scans can now detect a whole range of conditions that in the past might have meant more intrusive diagnostic techniques.

“From aortic aneurysms to early signs of certain types of cancer, this ultra sound equipment can provide doctors with an invaluable diagnostic tool.”
