THIS little chap was unlucky enough to crash-land in the sewage treatment works in Apuldram and was not expected to survive the night.

However, thanks to the good work of the Brent Lodge animal hospital in Sidlesham, this young male buzzard will soon be able to get back out into the wild.

Full-time staff member at Brent Lodge, Emma Pink, said: “We didn’t expect him to make it through the night.

“He’s now going from strength to strength. We found him at the treatment works, absolutely covered in sewage.

“He stank bless him. We made sure there were no breaks in his wings or anything like that.

“He must have crash-landed. We had to bath him about three or four times. We are having to handfeed him at the moment.

“He is lucky. He’s a young male and was extremely weak when came in.”
