Helping all creatures great and small
While most of us will be spending the winter tucked up at home with the central heating turned up, we should spare a thought for the area's wildlife, out in the cold conditions.
Staff at the Brent Lodge Bird and Wildlife Trust are urging members of the public to remember creatures great and small at this time of year.
The centre treats all kinds of wildlife, although during the winter months it is hedgehogs which often find themselves in trouble.
Hospital manager Jeannie Crawford explained: "We treat all kinds of sick and injured birds and mammals.
"Most of them have been involved in human-related incidents such as road accidents.
"The majority of our patients come from calls from the general public and from other wildlife centres."
