Blue badge renewal

I am writing this on behalf of my husband who is 72.

He went for an assessment for his blue badge renewal.

He was asked how far he could walk and what medical history he had.

He has had two knee replacements and one hip, the second hip isn’t that good and he also has arthritis in the small of his back (which not a lot can be done for it).

He is taking painkillers for that, but never was asked how difficult is it to get in and out of cars.

This is the issue at hand; the spaces between normal parked cars and disabled parking spaces is quite considerable.

On the normal spaces he has great difficulties getting in and out of the car, but was never asked about that.
