WITH litter-pickers in one hand and shovels in the other, one community group got busy clearing an area of Chichester that has seen its fair share of rubbish.
The Parklands and Bishop Luffa residents’ associations joined forces with Councillor Martyn Bell and representatives from Hyde Martlett to take part in the litter-pick.
One of the organisers, Dawn White, said: “We are hoping to make this a once-in-a-month thing, looking at different areas.”
Cllr Bell said talks had started with the nearby Bishop Luffa School to encourage its pupils not to litter. He added: “There has been a problem going on for some time, which is why this initiative was organised.”
