A SIGN asking motorists to slow down due to resurfacing work was set on fire.

Firefighters were called to St Paul’s Road in Chichester at 2.30am this morning (July 10) after the sign was ‘destroyed by fire’.

The fire service said it was deliberate.

The sign asked motorists to slow down to 20mph after the road had been resurfaced by West Sussex County Council.
