Brooke Jewitt and Emma Shepherd originally hoped their epic 24 hour stint would bring in £500 for Give-4-B.E.T.H.

Emma said: “We’ve cut 30 people’s hair and we will have raised £1,000 at the end of it.

Apart from being slightly delerious, feeling jetlagged, it has been great.”

The idea was Brooke’s, inspired by her night-shift working mum and Chris Moyle’s marathon radio show.

However she revealed Emma amped up the challenge: “I said 12 hours and she said 24.”

With the time frame set, from 6:30pm on May 10 to 6:30pm on May 11, the team set about making it happen.

Emma said: “We put it together, starting off with shift workers - fire stations, police stations, hospital and supermarket workers - we managed to fill up the night slots first and were actually stuggling with the day ones until about 48 hours before.

“Then, thanks to social media, it all went mad.”

The money raised from the £15 minimum haircut donations and online fund-raising, will go towards helping five year old Erin Aldridge.

Erin, who was diagnosed with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy at a young age, needs to fly to the states for an operation to enable her to walk unaided.

The cut-a-thon is just one way Creations is helping to reach the required £40,000.

Emma said: “We did the charity ball, that we do every year, for her. Carolyn is running the Great South Run for her and there are other events planned throughout the year.”

She praised the team who had rallied around, providing moral support, company in the small hours and plenty of coffee.

“One of our team members Jo has a six month old who wasn’t sleeping so she came in at 5am,” Emma explained. “It has been really good fun. I would do it again.”
