Aldsworth House open gardens event this weekend
Aldsworth House will be welcoming visitors as part of the annual Open Gardens event.
The gardens, situated in Aldsworth near Westbourne, will be opening on Sunday and Wednesday March 7 and 10 from 11am until 5pm.
The event is in aid of the National Garden Scheme which raises money for nursing, caring and gardening charities in the UK.
The garden features carpets of snowdrops, crocus and daffodils as well as hellebores, spring shrubs. In the 1920s four sisters were each given a basket of bulbs to plant there an over the past 90 years they have helped produced a stunning display of flowers which the family would like to share with the public.
Visitors will also be able to watch a short DVD about the family and garden during the 1930s.
Admission is 3.50. Children go free and can take part in a quiz. There will also be refreshments and a plant store.
