AN APPEAL by Pye Homes for 100 homes in Selsey will take place next Thursday.

The inquiry will be held at the Selsey Centre from 10am on January 23 after the plans were turned down by Chichester District Council officers last July.

Officers refused the application on the grounds that the plans did not demonstrate an acceptable mix of private and affordable homes, and the scale of the development was inappropriate for the town.

Other objections included the fact the development lumped all the affordable houses together, the impact on Pagham Harbour, as well as a failure to make provision for infrastructure needs of the town.

This comes after the council lost an appeal for 50 homes on Park Farm, the site next to the Pye Homes site,.

The public are welcome to attend the appeal hearing.
