Appeal to aid Birdham inquiry costs

AN APPEAL to build 46 homes in Birdham will be heard at an inquiry next month.

Seaward Properties has appealed Chichester District Council’s refusal of the plan for land off Church Lane.

It will start at 10am on March 25, at the Masonic Hall, South Pallant in Chichester.

Villagers have announced they will fight the appeal and want to present the ‘best possible case’ to the inspector.

The village’s residents’ association has employed a planning consultant, barrister and landscape expert.

It also appealed for people to pledge amounts to their cause of preventing house building in the area of outstanding natural beauty at Chichester Harbour.
