AN application for 25 new homes in Fishbourne is set to go before Chichester District Council’s planning committee.
The plans have been put forward for land east of Follis Gardens, in Clay Lane.
Fishbourne Parish Council has supported the application, on the grounds planning officers investigate drainage provision, the impact of the development on flooding and make sure there are enough parking spaces for visitors.
Susan Folkes, who lives in Blackboy Lane, Fishbourne, has objected to the plans.
“The road from these properties comes out on the already dangerous Clay Lane. There is no footpath on the appropriate side of the road which is very narrow at this point and extremely dangerous for children on their way to school.”
The scheme aims to provide a mix of dwelling sizes, including 40 per cent affordable dwellings.
Planning officers have recommended to approve the development, which will go before the committee on Wednesday (January 8).
