A COMMUNITY hub in Midhurst wants to build a network of the shops around Sussex.

Vicki Harrison set up The Tall Dog last year, with the aim of doing something positive for the community.

The hub aims to bring people together, to encourage the use of local businesses and services, to promote local businesses, to support local charities, and to help job-seekers.

“The Tall Dog has been a huge success and has played a very supportive role to those businesses and people that have been involved in the Midhurst Community Hub,” said Vicki.

“And now it’s 2014, The Tall Dog is looking to bring together other towns and villages to the network of community hubs.”

Her new community venture will be called CHANGE - standing for Community Hub And Networking Group Enterprise.

“This is an opportunity that you can generate an income which can be reinvested into your current business, maybe offering more local facilities and services to your local people or simply supporting your business to continue offering what you do.

“You can be as pro-active as you wish in growing this opportunity, or simply sit back and leave it to The Tall Dog, however the more you put into it, the greater the rewards for your community.

“As we already support a different charity each month, we would hope that all the new hubs that join us will be part of this too, because together, we can raise much-needed funds to help local people and local charities.

“You would be updated in the events and can
even develop your own, nominate local charities to raise money for, so together our ever-growing hub, can bring towns together, supporting each other, making people aware of what all our towns are doing under one large roof.”
